Hair Repair Routine with Olaplex N°3

Today I am going to share my hair repair Technique using Olaplex N° 3  with you:

Since I burned my hair with a DIY bleach experiment and went from Bob to Pixie (involuntarily!),

I became an expert on how to take good care of my hair.

One of the best products on the market is Olaplex N° 3.

In this post, I am sharing my technique to get the most out of your Olaplex N° 3 treatment.

1.) The first thing I do is to clarify my hair using a detox/clarifying shampoo:

     

    - gently lather your hair with the clarifying shampoo and let it sit for 1-3 minutes.

Why is it important to use a detox/clarifying shampoo?

=> If you have Damaged hair, you most likely like to use repair products, heat protectors, and oils to keep your hair looking good, those tend to build up on the hair. 

 For the Olaplex N° 3 to work its magic and get deep into the hair it is essential to get built-up products off first. That's why it is important to give your hair a light shampoo befory applying Olaplex N° 3

2.) Gently, very very gently pat your hair dry using a towel, never rub!

     

Yeah, that's my hair after I gently pat it dry! Underneath the brunette color, I have foil highlights, the most damaging lightning technique ever!

3.) Use a small amount to begin with, less is more!  

4.)  Gently, very gently start to massage it into your hair by squishing the Olaplex N°3 mask upwards

      into your hair. 

  

5.) You might start to comb it trough with your fingers but be careful, if it does not work to comb it             with your fingers, use a wide tooth com and VERY gently start to comb the hair, starting with the           ends, NOT THE ROUTES!

6.) After combing your hair through and all your hair is saturated with the Olaplex N°3 mask, comb your hair upwards into a bun on the very top of your hair and put a shower cap on.

The shower cap will help the moisture stay in and trap the heat from the scalp, which helps the Olaplex N°3 mask penetrate deeper into the hair.

Now let it all do its magic for 45 minutes, Yes 45 minutes, that's the maximum time that the          Olaplex N° 3 is working inside the hair.

  

I use the AQUIS hair wrap on top of the shower cap for extra warmth.

I also highly recommend the original AQUIS hair wrap for letting your hair dry after your hair care routine. Its the most gentle and simply best hair wrap on the market and worth every penny!

7.)  After 45 minutes you wash out the Olaplex N°3 and shampoo again, yes you shampoo again, the    Olaplex N° 3 has to be shampooed out of the hair. 

    Now you have to use your favorite hair mask these are my 2 favorites:

    - Echos Line hair Repair without silicones

    - Wella Invigo Nutri-Enrich scent-free with silicones 

8.)  After your mask you can close the hair with your favorite conditioner.

     Why use conditioner after a mask !?!?!?  

     - The conditioner closes the hair cuticle and helps the moisture to stay in longer, it's gonna be extra soft after and your hair will stay hydrated for longer.

9.) Finish with your favorite leave-in conditioner/hair oil/ heat protectant and blow dry!

     It's important to blow dry the hair after because wet hair is damaged way more easily than dry hair.
